ALISON DURBIN Very Best Of (EMI) This is the first time a collection of all Allison's hits has been available including top ten successes 'Don’t Come Any Closer' (top 3 in 1968) and 'Games People Play' (top 4 in 1969). Included is one of her first recordings, 'Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat', released when Allison was only fourteen years of age. In addition to all her single releases this collection of twenty tracks features versions from her first album of sixties hits like 'This Girls In Love With You', 'Something’s Gotten Hold Of My Heart', and 'Angel Of The Morning'. Included also is her biggest New Zealand hit 'I Have Loved Me A Man'. Between 1976 and 1983 Allison recorded seven country albums all of which went either gold or platinum but unfortunately none were released in New Zealand. So, with Country Classics, also shown here is a selection of her best tracks from the Australian country releases.
