THE EXPONENTS
THE EXPONENTS
Once Bitten, Twice Bitten 1981-'95
(Festival)
The Dance Exponents (which in more recent times became the Exponents) conjure up images of New Years Eve and the charismatic, flamboyant and savvy front man Jordan Luck. But boy could these guys write some songs, and Jordan sure sang the words Kiwis everywhere wanted to sing along to. These songs are so catchy that if you say every track from Prayers Be Answered, you end up singing the words rather than just saying them.

The hits were all there the lovely 'Victoria' and 'I'll Say Goodbye'. Dance Exponents formed in Timaru in November 1979 and as the name might suggest their style of rock was designed to make people dance. The band wanted to target the younger audience and played many under-age venues as well as pubs which helped them gain a teenage following. To this day the Dance Exponents (or the Exponents) - even though they are no longer - have a loyal audience.
