EYE TV
As Far As The Eye TV & Fire Down Below
(Virgin/EMI)
Initially formed as 'The Nixons' - Sean Sturm (guitar), Mike Scott (bass) and Mark Pollard (drums). Under this moniker they released the albums Special Downtime and Eye TV.

In 1995 long-time friend Luke Casey stepped in to replace departing Mark Pollard. The band's name-change came about when the band looked into touring American and discovered that there was already an American band called 'The Nixons'.

The band toured America, Australia and New Zealand throughout 1995 and 1996, and in October 1997 the first album under the new band name is released: Birdy-O.

In 1999 Eye Tv rock the main stage at the troubled Sweetwaters festival and search for a new member to add depth to the music and improve live performances. They found exactly what they were looking for in keyboardist Grant Winterburn, and he joins the group as full member. Also in 1999, their single 'Just The Way It is' spends 20 weeks in the Top 20. Following this an anthology of the band's history is released in an interactive Double-CD package entitled As Far As The Eye TV.

New song 'One Day Ahead' becomes the bands next single and this is released in May 2000. This song flies high in the New Zealand singles chart, peaking at #9.

2000 also saw a successful promotional trip to Germany and the release of their album Fire Down Below.
