FOGHAT
Live
(Bearsville/Rhino)
This 1977 rock concert has the energy of Deep Purple's Made In Japan. You are exposed to a full frontal aural-assault of twin lead guitars racing in frenetic fashion, with powerful pumping drums and driving bass giving this awesome unit pace. Two of Foghat's members (Lonesome Dave & Roger Earl) are originally from Kim Simmond's band Savoy Brown. These members left Simmonds shortly after the release of Savoy Brown's Looking In album. Rod Price who is the lead/slide guitarist came from the British blues outfit Black Cat Bones. Live features the Foghat classics 'Fool For The City', 'Road Fever', Ike Turner's 'Honey Hush', and Willie Dixon's 'I Just Want To Make Love To You'. For the coup de grace Rod Price and Lonesome Dave really let rip on Foghat's showstopper 'Slow Ride'. Hold on tight during this song as Rod is right up there with Duane Allman's flying leads.
