BOBBIE GENTRY Golden Classics (Capital/EMI) It was sad to see Bobbie disappear from the country music scene back in the 70's, but what she has left behind is a collection of timeless classics. This compilation includes the legendary 'Ode To Billie Joe', the swamp rocker 'Mississippi Delta', three duets with Glen Campbell i.e. 'Morning Glory', 'All I Have To Do Is Dream' and 'Let It Be Me'; the pop hit 'Fancy and the hillbilly stomper 'Okolona River Bottom Band' are also included. In some ways Bobbie was the female equivalent of Tony Joe White, and the album cover picture has her looking more like a 60's version of Shania Twain.
