GOLDEN EARRING
GOLDEN EARRING
Golden Earring
(Polydor/Universal)
Dutch rockers Golden Earring are well known internationally for their rock anthems 'Radar Love' and 'Twilight Zone'.

This is one of their older albums and features the amazing pschedelic 'Wall Of Dolls', that reminds me of Alistair McLain's novel 'Puppet On A String', that was also based in Holland. Lots of wow-wow guitar playing featured here. 'See See' is a melodramatic rock ballad about lost innocence and a bad dude. 'I'm Gonna Send My Pidgeons To The Sky' is a protest song that doesn't really make you aware of what the protest is about, but as a rock track it has some incredible guitar solos. And the last track on Golden Earring is 'Big Tree Blue Sea' that could very well have been performed by England's Jethro Tull.

If you like good-tight, early 70's rock then this album will certainly be a pleaser.

Also worth checking out is Golden Earring's 7 Tears that features the complete 'She Flies On Strange Wings', and Moontan that features the epic full length version of 'Radar Love'. I've used the Moontan cover as the background.
