JANIS IAN Up 'til Now (Very Best Of) Janis is a singer/song-writer/performer/multi-intrumentalist and one hell of a poet. She predated Suzanne Vega and Shreyll Crow with this style. Her craft was born out of personal tragedy; that being sexually abused as a child, and this left its horrible mark on Janis. She also became Ella Fitzgerald's favourite musician. Having seen Janis live I can attest to the fact that she is so charismatic. Up 'til Now traces her earliest hits, 'Jesse' and 'At Seventeen', and flows on through to her mid-career term with 'Fly Too High', that was a smash hit from the movie Foxes.
