CURTIS LUNDY Against All Odds (Justin Time) Curtis Lundy was Betty Carter's resident bass player. This is his 'Justin Time' label debut; and it consists predominately of originals. All members i.e. Bobby Watson, John Hicks, Roy Hargrove and Curtis sister Carmen feature highly, and their interplay and solos are fantastic. Highlights are 'Players Anthem', and the tracks featuring Carmen 'A Long Journey', 'Blue Woman', and 'Where'd it Go'; and Roy plays some outstanding flugelhorn during 'Blue Woman'.
