JUAN De MARCOS' AFRO CUBAN ALL STARS Distinto Diferente (World Circuit/Elite) Distinto Diferente is the eagerly awaited follow up to the Grammy nominated debut album A Toda Cuba Le Gusta (World Circuit). Founder and leader of the All Stars and co-founder of the Buena Vista Social Club, Juan De Marcos Gonzalez continues his mission to show the world the diversity, continuing vitality of Cuban music. This ambitious new album marks a stylistic change from the band's debut which was essentially an homage to the 50's. Gonzalez now looks to more contemporary sounds with a dance oriented album while incorporating a variety of styles: sonmontuno, danzon, the new timba-son, guajira and traditional Afro-Cuban chant. The cast of musicians is extraordinary and includes old and new friends including Ruben Gonzalez and David Alfaro (piano), Ibrahim Ferrer, Manuel 'Puntillita' Licea and Teresa Garcia Caturla (vocals), 'Maracas' and Pollo (flutes), Jesus 'Aguaje' Ramos (trombone), Guajiro Mirabal (trumpet), Barbarito Torres (laoud), Cachaito Lopez (bass) and many more.
