PAT METHENY GROUP Imaginary Day (WEA) Imaginary Day is a return to Pat's roots; musically in the same vein of his early ECM recordings i.e. American Garage and Offramp. 'Follow Me' and 'A Story Within A Story' could both have very well been written and performed at the time when Lyle Mays & Pat were performing such classics as 'Are You Going With Me' (Offramp). Pat and Lyle are the main composers on Imaginary Day. The excellent lineup on this album includes Steve Rodby, Paul Vertico, with special guests Mino Cinelu and Don Alias, et al. These two World renowned percussionists come to the fore on the Latin inspired 'The Heat Of The Day'. 'A Story Within A Story' features an exceptional trumpet solo from Mark Ledford.
