BARRY WHITE Staying Power (BMG) A cocktail smoothie, This is Barry White reworked for the radio friendly 90's. A slick mood album with a (Hang on in there) love theme that gently carries you from track to track. Title song, 'Staying Power' is a positive assertion that Barry White is here to stay on the charts and on CD's in millions of bedrooms all over the world. This is White's first CD release since 1994 and although the smooth sultry sound of his voice has lost nothing of it's soul appeal; unfortunately like a sequel to a good movie Staying Power fails to lift the listener to new heights. Don't be put off though, Staying Power has a steady pace that sets a nice mood. The two duets, 'The Longer We Make Love', with Lisa Stansfield and Chaka Khan are both impressive, and 'I Get Off On You' is classic Barry White, sexy and romantic.
