Bill Withers Greatest Hits (Sony) This disc just gets better the more you play it, and will lift your mood every time you give it a spin - well, it works for me! Bill Wither's singing is silky smooth, floating over deliciously funky grooves that never overwhelm the songs and Withers beautifully soulful delivery. He is one of those singers you go "Oh yeah, that guy, now I remember". Often overlooked, Withers has written several classic songs; 'Ain't No Sunshine', 'Lean On Me', 'Lovely Day', and also 'Just The Two Of Us' that appears on Grover Washington Jr's Winelight album, and 'Soul Shadows' that appears on The Crusaders Rhapsody & Blues album; and are some of the most recognisable pop songs of our time.
