The
Difference | One,
two boys by the river Down by the water Telling riddles in the dark With fireflies under the moonlight
Carving the insides of a tree with a knife Did you ever hear the one about the boy's big sister
His best friend come along He tried to kiss her The only difference That I see
Is you are exactly the same as you used to be One boy lives in a tower With bow and arrow
And the artificial heart With his girl The maid of dishonor They loaded the cannon
With a jealous appetite They say that children now They come in all ages
And maybe sometimes old men die With little boy faces The only difference
That I see Is you are exactly the same as you used to be You always said that you needed some
But you always had more more than anyone The only difference That I see Is you
are exactly the same as you used to be

notes
| words and music by Jakob Dylan appears on Bringing Down the Horse -The
Difference was the third single released off of Bringing Down the Horse "I wrote that in the studio when we were mixing, and [we] just had everybody bring the gear back down and we set up and recorded. That and 'I Wish I Felt Nothing' were recorded in the same few days, towards the beginning of mixing the last entries." -Jakob, talking about "The Difference." "Songs come in all ways,
you know. You never expect them. You just carry guitar and paper,
and when the line strikes you, you write it down. And sometimes
you got a verse sitting around for three months that you can't
find a chorus to, or you can't find melodies. It happens so many
different ways, and I would have to say if I remember clearly, I
had that chorus written and I though it was strong and I tried to
just write something around it." -Jakob when asked if he wrote "The
Difference" around the chorus: "The only difference that I
see/Is you are exactly the same as you used to be"
