 I won't even go into this too much, because it's so damn obvious. Stapp has a gigantic Eddie Vedder wanna-be complex, and so much of Creed's "music" is derivative of Pearl Jam's. More than one of their song titles come from Pearl Jam songs. I would still hate Creed, but maybe respect them a small bit more if they would at least admit that they copy Pearl Jam relentlessly. That's the worst part of it all. Not only do they refuse to admit it, but they have the audacity to speak negatively of Pearl Jam to the press. Their idiotic ex-bassist said something like, "Eddie Vedder wishes he could write like Scott Stapp." That's laughable. Then the reigning king of egos, Jesus Stapp, says something incredibly intelligent in an online chat like, "I totally kick Vedder's ass. He keeps changing his vocal style. I'm not about being all artsy-fartsy." What a fucking moron. Somewhere in between being a shitty "ass-rock" band that nobody knew, and being a shitty "ass-rock" band revered by millions of degenerate morons, these talentless bastards have forgotten where they came from. Without Pearl Jam there would be no Creed. |
