This Page Is Dedicated To All Of The Victims And Their Familes From September 11th, 2001

Tuesday, September 11, 2001, began as a sparkling early-autumn morning in New York. Then the unimaginable happened. With breathtaking audacity, terrorists hijacked commercial planes and plowed into the World Trade Center-first one, then another. Then yet another struck the Pentagon. Then a fourth one crashed in rural Pennsylvania headed for Washington D.C.
Pics of New York and Washington D.C.

Today we are in a war against terrorism, matched against faceless, hidden cowards who have yet to take credit for their actions.

Americans are in shock. Americans are living in fear. And Americans are angry, perhaps even angrier than they have ever been.

The lives of each and every one of us has changed.. Without exception, Life as we knew it will never be the same. This act of agression, The worst in the history of our nation, hit home, right in the heart of the symbols of our economy and our military.

~UNEXPECTED~
unbelieveable shock encompassed the nation...
spirits so full of life had been stolen from friends who had so much to offer.
no warnings or goodbyes were given in advance,
as if to spare them the pain of knowing what was to come.

confused tears flooded the faces of all who knew them,
drowning their emotions with remorse and longing.
and staining their eyes a bitter red.

shock, anger, and fear intertwined to form a capturing web
pulling and stretching on the conscience of many:
those who were present during this untimely tragedy,
who had to replay the last moments for the rest,
and those who dreamed of being saviors,
rescuing them from death and rescuing others from sorrow.

nothing could change this unfortunate outcome,
precious lives were taken from this great nation,
but could never be forgotten.
a proud, solid stone now lies at the head of their current beds,
marking their wonderful existence on earth.

~The Lady~

I wonder what she thought
As she stood there, strong and tall.
She couldn't turn away,
She was forced to watch it all.

Did she long to offer comfort
As her country bled?
With her arm forever frozen
High above her head.

She could not shield her eyes
She could not hide her face
She just stared across the water
Keeping Freedom's place.

The smell of smoke and terror
Somehow reduced her size
So small within the harbor
But still we recognized...

How dignified and beautiful
On a day so many died
I wonder what she thought,
And I know she must have cried.

~AMERICA~

America the beautiful,
America the free,
America my homeland,
What have they done to thee?

The hate that festers round the world
We’d hoped to keep at bay,
Has finally broken down our walls
And come to roost this day.

The nameless, faceless cowards that brought
The City tumbling down,
Forgot that this great country,
Will always rally round.

Filled with smoke and flames this night,
The City wears a shroud,
Yet turn your eyes upon the bay
Where Liberty still stands proud!

America the beautiful,
America the free,
America, my homeland--
The Land of Liberty!

~A Prayer~

God bless the men who died this day,
God bless the women , too,
And all the little children, Lord,
Who now reside with you.

And bless the friends and families
That they have left behind;
Enfold each one within Your arms
That they Your peace may find.

Evil may have struck a blow
And brought us to our knees,
But love will raise us up again
And give our heart’s some ease.

And Lord, be with the people who
Must, in the days ahead,
Face horrors unimaginable
As they dig out the dead.

Each and every one of us
Has been changed this day some way;
So Lord, be with America
And heal our hearts we pray.

Amen
