CD: Now listen, you guys are huge in the US and also the States. What's the story?
C: Its all the food we've been eating ::laughs:: No, you know, we went over to the States last year, we were there for the whole of the year, we just worked really hard and....sold a million albums. It sounds easy but it was very, very hard work
S: Lots of hard work
M: And no sleep
CD: 'Cause normally what happens is obviously you work this market first and then move to the States. So what made you do it the other way round?
S: We released our single here in 1999 and it didn't do anything, went to #37 and we were like 'oh my GOD, let's get on the first plane and leave'
C: So we went to Asia and it went to '1 in 5 countries and American record companies started getting interested in us so we went over there, signed a deal and the rest's history ::smiles at Mark (?):: innit Mark?
M: :: smiles back (?!) it is, it is indeed
CD: Excellent. Well loads of our other artists struggle to kind of break America, you know, Robbie's been over thre and he had a bit of a hard time, Oasis went over there and they didn't do it, so what are your kind of tips for breaking America?
M: Well, you know, the thing we had, the luxury we had, is spending so much time in America. I mean, we spent a year there doing various tours with Britney Spears and we did our own tour as well. I think we had something different and something special there, you know, we could sing live, they like the live thing over in America. So we did that and we played on stage and we got a lot of respect for that and, you know, it worked!
CD: And is it true you've got some celebrity fans?
C: Yeah, the Wombles, they come down to a lot of our shows ::laughs::
M: Teletubbies, we're good mates with them
C: Backstreet Boys, er....Howie flew over from Florida to see one of our shows in La, that was cool, to show support
CD: And you toured with Britney Spears, how was that?
S: It was great. We had a great time. That was in Summer
C: I stood on her dog though so i don't think she likes me very much
CD: But its only a little though, isn't it, so you don't notice it
C: It was an accident, complete accident, and I just stood on it. I was stood there eating a hotdog and just stood on it
CD: So youre stood there eating a hotdog and just stood on it?
C: I heard it scream and I looked at the hotdog and was like 'Wow!'
CD: So listen, how d'you feel about releasing in the UK?
M: Dead excited, you know, we've been dieing to get back to England 'cause that's where all our friends and family are so, yeah, we're really excited aren't we?
S: (Says something that I can't even remotely understand)
CD: So you're happy to be back
C: Yeah, its great to be on British turf
CD: Excellent. Well good luck with everything and I hope it goes really really well for you
