To quote Tom Knapp, the editor, publisher, and webmaster of Rambles, his online cultural arts magazine is "Your best source on the web for folk & traditional music, speculative fiction, folklore, movies & more."
Knapp maintains an excellent site. If you are a fan of Celtic music, folk music, singer-songwriters, even some country and jazz, this site is for you. The emphasis is mostly on recorded music, but in addition to CDs, Rambles includes all of the things Knapp indicates above plus reviews of live performances and interviews. At the end of June 2004 Rambles boosted over 6,900 reviews and articles. Rambles is influential too. In March 2004 the website generated 1.5 million hits with almost 200,000 unique visitors.
Knapp updates his site weekly, sometimes more. Each reviewed work has its own page and remains online even as new articles and reviews are added. With over one hundred writers, all volunteers, the site grows rapidly.
Rambles may be the best place for an artist that has no other outlet for his work to recieve mass exposure.
In addition to the reviews I write for Millennium Music Magazine I also write CD reviews for Rambles which you can read by clicking on the individual link below.
