Online Auction to Benefit The Nancy Davis Center Without Walls
LOS ANGELES, April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The 9th Annual Race to Erase MS, co-chaired by Nancy Davis and Tommy Hilfiger, will auction off a brand new 2002 Cadillac Escalade EXT signed by celebrities from sports, film, television and music on www.hollywoodcharities.org . The auction, powered by Yahoo! Auction, started on Monday, April 22, 2002 and ends on Monday, May 13, 2002. To view or place a bid on the auction click on The Race to Erase MS button on www.hollywoodcharities.org . In addition to receiving this unique "White Diamond-painted" luxury vehicle, the top bidder will also receive various sports memorabilia autographed by some of the most popular personalities of the sports world.
The Cadillac EXT -- the world's most powerful Sport Utility Truck (SUT) -- will be featured daily on "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" on FOX Sports Net. Celebrity guests will be autographing the EXT's specialty clear wrapping (which covers the vehicle from headlights to bumper, while protecting the stunning tri-color paint). The highest bidder of this vehicle will have the option of maintaining a signed vehicle, or removing the wrap of celebrity signatures for unique framing.
100% of the winning bid for the signed Cadillac Escalade EXT, with autographed sports memorabilia, will go directly to the Race to Erase MS and benefit the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis, an organization dedicated to the treatment and ultimate cure of MS. Funding research is the core focus of the Foundation and significant strides have been made to find the cause and the cure of this devastating disease. All funds raised by the Race to Erase MS support "The Nancy Davis Center Without Walls," a unique collaboration of the world's leading MS research scientists.
The Race to Erase MS, themed "Peace and Love to Erase MS" will be hosted by Tom Arnold, the cast of "The Best Damn Sports Show Period," Sela Ward, Tony Danza, Bill Maher and Jay Mohr and will be held on Friday, May 10, 2002. Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Donna Summer and Smokey Robinson will perform. The event is sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger, VH1, American Airlines and The Century Plaza Hotel & Spa.
