"And Then Again, She Was My Friend."
© DANOLYRICS---2001
Two dead-end jobs so many bills to pay,
Late for work another grueling day,
Treading the mill grinding the stone,
Among so many but so alone,
Life is a ball and chain it seems,
Heartaches, pain and broken dreams,
Reminding me on my left hand,
Over dented skin is a golden band.
Good times and bad times until the end,
Not just my wife she was my friend,
And then again, she was my friend.
Barely more than nothing,
We thought we had it all,
Because in the end,
Love, it conquers all,
First off and foremost,
She was second to none,
Superwoman and Wonderwoman,
Wrapped up into one,
More compassion than she could ever lend,
Not just my wife she was my friend,
And then again she was my friend.
I have come to grips,
With the fact she`s gone,
Yeah, eventually,
I will move on,
I may find love again,
But who really knows,
And so, on and on,
My life still goes,
Guys pay attention to the message I send,
Not just your wife, she is your friend,
And then again, she was my friend.
Memories of days gone by,
Still bring a teardrop to my eye,
And then again, she was my friend.
