As he lies awake,
Alone in the dark,
Struggling to hear,
And to see,
The question he finds,
Still haunting his mind,
Should I hold on for them,
Or let go for me?
Should he hold on for them,
Or just let himself go,
He wonders which one,
They would choose,
Two great kids and a wife,
A wonderful life,
Seems he`s got everything,
And nothing to lose.
The cancer has ravaged,
His once hearty frame,
It`s getting too much,
To withstand,
He knows he`ll be alright,
Cause he`s seen the light,
And the Good Lord,
Is holding his hand.
Should he hold on for them,
Or just let himself go,
He wonders which one,
They would choose,
Two great kids and a wife,
A wonderful life,
Seems he`s got everything,
And nothing to lose.
He can feel his heart,
Giving in to his soul,
He`s fought with all,
The strength he could show,
He`s done hesitating,
His maker is waiting,
And in a short while,
They will know...(pause)
He gave it his best,
Now it`s time,
That he rest,
He can`t hold on,
For them......,
He`s letting himself go.
