"The Frontier Way"

Wouldn`t it be fun just for once,
Turnin` back the hands of time,
To the days when a good horse,
And a fast draw was the bottom line,
When a cowboy`s only fear,
Was not to die with his boots on.
It`s a shame the Frontier Way,
Is long since gone.
Saddle up at dawn,
We were gone,
And riding til,
The sun went down.
Going heels,
With matchin` Colts,
Just in case,
A little trouble came round.
Sitting by the fire,
With a cup full,
Of "Who hit John?",
It`s a shame,
The Frontier Way,
Is long since gone.
My old Henry rifle crossed my lap,
And my saddlebags full of hardtack,
Ten gallon hat, it`s brim flat,
Sweat and dust stained from front to back,
Spurs and chaps, shirt with flaps,
Silver conchos and my old boots on,
It`s a shame the Frontier Way,
Is long since gone.
Saddle up at dawn,
We were gone,
And riding til,
The sun went down.
Going heels,
With matchin` Colts,
Just in case,
A little trouble came round.
Sitting by the fire,
With a cup full,
Of "Who hit John?",
It`s a shame,
The Frontier Way,
Is long since gone.
Try my luck, win a buck,
Playing Faro at the old saloon,
Five killers get the rope,
Watch em choke at the stroke of noon,
Even though, you might know,
I could still go on and on,
It`s a shame the Frontier Way,
Is long since gone.
Yeah, It`s a shame the Frontier Way,
Is long since gone.
