You used to have a female bass player, if she wanted to re-join the band one day (not necessarily as a bassist), would you have her back?
I don't really think she would want to, that’s a pretty strange and tough question.

Apart from world domination, what plans do you have for 2003?
Just to make the best record we possibly can, we are all really excited and confident about it, from there hopefully we can play some nice festival spots and have a good time.

Along with Vex Red, Lostprophets and Hundred Reasons, you've been named as one of the bands to basically help kick nu-metals ass! How do you feel >about this and are you willing to except the challenge?!!
I think nu-metal has pretty much dug its own grave, personally i don't really feel any connection to it and if anything we have moved away from the heavier side of our music. For us it’s more important to just do what we do well on our own, we don't feel part of a scene or feel like we have any other purpose than to make the best music we can (and protect the earth from the inevitable invasion by creatures from the sea).

You've supported some pretty impressive bands on tour, are there any bands who you have expected to be really nice people or to be typically rock'n'roll with TV out of hotel window type antics, but have disappointed you?

Not really, in general everyone we have toured with has been really nice, we have made a lot of great friends. I've never known anyone do anything particularly "rock and roll" that sort of thing is pretty much a myth and the windows in most hotels only open about 3cm. Actually that reminds me of a story where a band wanted to throw a TV out of a window and when they realised it wouldn't fit they had to settle on throwing out the phone. I think that sums up the futility of the situation. I wouldn't do it i guess because its a bit clichéd and if i wanted to be a cliché i wouldn't have joined a band in the first place. Was that a rant?

What do you think of bands like SClub Juniors and other really young kids getting record deals?

Funny. Calvin is my favourite SClub Junior.

Have you had any strange fan requests?

Not really, none that i can think of. I get email asking for signed stuff and interviews stuff like that, i do as much as i can, it makes me feel loved (ha ha). Actually, i have had to odd email asking us to play at birthday parties and stuff like that, that’s a little odd i suppose.

If you could 'borrow' anyone for a day and use them to perform sexual favours on you, who would it be and why?
Natalie Portman, Natalie Imbruglia, Jenna Elfman, Audrey De'Tout (i think that’s her name, she was the wonderful woman from Amelie) They should keep me going for the day i think.

Would you do a duet with Westlife if it meant you could headline a major festival?
No, i would do it for serious financial gain though.

How proud were your parents when one of your songs was played in the background on Emmerdale?
Actually i don't think my parents watch Emmerdale, we are more of an Eastenders household. It was pretty strange for a band like us to be on there I can not get my head round it at all. However it is probably our biggest achievement.
