Like Byker Grove, Grange Hill isn't the same as it used to be. I don't know if it's because I've grown up and it was always that dire or it just lacks the sparkle of the days of Bridget 'The Midget' McClusky, Mr Bronson and Peter 'Tucker' Jenkins.
Imagine if the Old Skool Grange Hill featured some well-known faces from the world of music and television.
That's where this article comes in, it's time to see who my ideal Grange Hill cast would be.
* Damon Albarn and Brett Anderson fighting for the attention of Justine Frischmann.
* Mel Blatt and Shaznay Lewis skiving lessons to perform in a cheesy rap combo with Suggs on the decks.
* Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer as the two entrepreneurs selling any old shite to make a couple of quid.
* Jarvis Cocker excels in most of his subjects, except for woodwork that he only attends because crazy teacher John Peel lets him smoke in his office.
* Martin Kemp is the sadistic head of PE who will wear the same track suit for the rest of his working life, unless of course headmaster Tony Blackburn goes a bit wappy again and like all PE teachers Kempy'll take over as acting head.
