We had problems with this interview. Either these boys need to speak up, or we seriously need our ears testing. What follows is what we hope some of the interview consisted of.
So you guys are from Peterborough then?
(Shouldn’t we be asking the questions?) Err, yeah.
Is it a bit of a weird town (do you mean are we inbred?) We’ve heard this and that?
It’s not that bad...most of the time.
End of small talk, start of questions...
Are you short sighted? (Longview – short sighted, get it?).
Erm, yeah! (points to glasses).
My dad thought of that question. It’s a joke – not really that funny though.
Well, I’ve never heard it as an interview question before! But I am short sighted so I can’t see as far as the rest of you.
...really...how fascinating…*yawn*
So, what would you say are the most annoying questions you get asked in interviews?
When you get asked for Rock and Roll stories
Do you have any rock and roll stories?
Ha ha ha. No. We’re early to bed, watch a bit of Pet Rescue, you know. Yeah, you know we’re not the most rock and roll band in Britain...and Countdown. We always make sure we get to the venue before Countdown (Jeez there is definitely something about being in a band and compulsions to watching Countdown)..and err Richard and Judy. We never miss ‘You Say We Pay’.
But what about Neighbours?
I’ve not seen Neighbours for a long time.
Say something controversial?
We’re not very controversial
Okay then, did you watch the Eurovision song Contest?
We got invited to it, but didn’t go
Why didn’t you go – we would have gone.
….had some Countdown to catch up on (..of course, silly us – forgot the Golden Rule of being in a band – don’t miss Countdown).
You have been compared to Embrace, how do you feel about that?
I don’t think we are like them, although there are some Embrace fans in the band, but I’m not one of them…. wouldn’t say we are wannabe Embrace though. I can see why people would compare us to them…their sound is big and so is ours.
You have also been compared to Teenage Fanclub, how’s that?
Well, I love their harmonies. They write great pop songs.
Where would you like to be by the end of the year?
Hate to be?
No it was ‘Where would you like to be’, but hate to be is much more interesting. Answer that instead.
Oh, well I’d hate to be in prison, but I’d love to be playing prison gigs.
*Yawn* Yep, they don’t exactly score highly on charisma do they?

Message from the band – Don’t play with fire and always remember to wash behind your ears.
