We planned on having a bit of a punk day today by spending most of it in the Concrete Jungle Stage watching Capdown , >Good Riddance and >28 Days. But as it felt like the worlds hottest day, we seemed to spend most of the it in the top quality 5 star classy festival toilets chucking water over each other, eating the most discusting ice-cream in existance, and sitting under an umbrella shouting to anyone who would listen about how we were so hot we were melting! Consequently we only managed to make it to see a few bands all day, the first of these was Feeder . We only watched half of them because we were too busy following a bloke around who looked like he may have been famous and who also just happened to be incredibly fit!! The little bit we did see of them seemed to be ok, but they didn’t play enough of their more well known songs, we've seem them do better, also not being close enough to stare at Grant didn’t help! Next up was Supergrass. They were unexpectedly good and we even found the energy to stand up the whole way through!
After having a much needed alcohol, lolly and Jaffa Cakes top-up we were ready to be impressed by the Manics. It didn’t happen. They were crap, although Nicky Wire did look quite good in that dress!! So off we went to watch the Backyard Babies instead. We couldn’t actually see anything because they seem to have extremely tall people as fans, but the two songs we knew sounded good!
It might not have been the best day of the festival but it was deffinately made more eventful by having the balloons stolen off our tent, being pelted with bottles by our lovely tent neighbours, chased by a big group of blokes with super soakers, having a man set his hat on fire (whilst wearing it!) and then trying to get us to kiss him and then expalining to a german man why he can get his car and do wheel spins infront of the main stage once everyone had left the arena for the night!
