22-20's
February 2004

We’re pretty sure that the 22-20s genuinely felt that their number was well and truly up during their brief, but shall we say very ‘fiery’ interview with us. Although we didn’t realise it at the time with retrospect the poor boys seemed terrified of us. I mean are we really that scary? Maybe we need to learn to lower our voices sometimes and listen a little more. I said maybe...

So, how two timing are the 22-20s?
What, do you mean with girlfriends?

Yes
We’re not at all - we all have girlfriends.

That’s a relief! Thinking about it, with retrospect this question probably made them think we were flirting with them but can I point out here that we weren’t. Anyway, They’re far too ugly and we are far to shallow.

What’s your favourite smell?
Ermm….I don’t really have one but I guess fresh bread... fresh coffee...

Freshly cut grass?....
Ermm…yeah..early morning dew

How would you describe your style of music?
Well, we were a blues band for a long time so that’s always been a bit predominant but we just like ordinary stuff like blues and country and we think that we have a lot of melody. Can you get an answer out of that?

hOOchy* as of yet cannot perform miracles

What do you hope to achieve by the end of the year?
To still be a band.

What was it like going on tour with The Veils?
We didn't really see them. We tend to go off after gigs

Say something controversial
......................*silence*

Get the feeling they don’t do controversy, actually get the feeling they don’t do much, or say much for that matter.

Do you have any wishes and if so what are they?
To still be a band in thirty years time.

Yawn

30 years? But then you would be like the Rolling Stones!
Well you gave us three wishes and now I want to be like the Rolling Stones.

But don’t you think it’s a bit sad that they are still trying to rock at their age. I always though that to be in a band was a celebration of youth, being a bit bad and rebelling or something...
Yeah there is that but I still think that what Keith Richards is doing is great rather than sitting around doing nothing on some country estate.

But don’t you think it’s better as a band to go out in your peak rather than dragging out the inevitable?
Yeah it’s true they were at their best in the 60’s and the 70’s but Keith still gets a kick out of what he does.

And if he didn’t keep on doing world tours he would have nothing else left to do
Exactly. And I hate bands that go on tour for two months and then go off and be themselves for the other 10!
