Matt was born in Cleveland, OH on July 8th, 1980. After
quite a considerable amount of moves throughout the continental
United States he ended up in Memphis, TN, where at the age of
16, he was introduced to the electric bass. After a year of playing
on the electric, he made the move upright bass. After soon discovering
jazz music as a medium for his expression, and obtaining a Jazz
Scholarship from the University of North Texas, he choose to pursue
his studies at this prestigious institution. During his stay at
UNT, he has studied with two teachers, Lynn Seaton, and Jeff Bradetich.
He has had the opportunity to play for former president, George
Bush, and was honored with the Phi Kappa Lambda award for the
most outstanding junior student. Matt has played with Gary Burton,
Wayne De Lano, Ronnie Cuber, James Hurt, David Rickenberg, Peter
Bernstein, Tim Ries, Dan Haerle, and Lee Tamboulian.
