Janie Worm and the Early Birds are a Seattle based group playing alternative folk music, and have been compared to artists such as the Indigo Girls and Joni Mitchell. The group consists of Janie Worm (Middle - singer/songwriter, acoustic guitar, vocals, harmonica), Erica Dorfman (Left - congas, dumbeck, shakers, recorder) and Rae Borough (Right - bass, harmony vocals.) The Early Birds have been playing with Janie since Spring of 1999
Janie, originally from Arkansas, has been writing and performing music all her life. "Growing up on a farm with 9 siblings," Janie says, "there were always plenty of people to play and sing along with." Living in the Northwest since 1992, she now considers herself a Seattlite. She has been heard in a variety of venues and festivals across the country.
Janie Worm's songs are spirited and uplifting and will inspire. Rae and Erica create the bass and drum arrangements that brings Janie's wonderful original songs to life. Janie and the Early Birds gig regularly throughout the Great Northwest. Come see one of the Northwest's best kept secrets!
