As lead singer of the Kingston Ontario based band Weeping Tile, Sarah Harmer is a well known name in Candian Music. Along with members the members of Weeping Time Sarah released 3 albums, most recenlty
Valentino in 1997.
In 1999 Sarah released her first solo CD,
Songs For Clem along with help from Jason Euringer. The CD was originaly meant as a gift for her dad, but was very well recieved all across Canada by critics. A writer for
Billboard Magazine even described it as "the most intimate, personalized and rasteful roots styled album I've heard in years."
In 2000 Sarah released her second solo CD entitled
You Were Here. This album marked her U.S. debut as a solo artist. After initally selling the album only online and at shows, Universal Music took it off her hands and has been making sure it gets the push it deserves.
Aside from her own CDs Sarah has performed with many other artists, contributing to their albums as well. Most recently Sarah can be heard on Great Big Sea's live album
Road Rage released in October 2000, singing a duet with Sean McCann called "Captain Wedderburn".
Sarah Harmer also has a strong relationship with Canadian band
Blue Rodeo. Blue Rodeo's latest CD, The Days in Between, features back up vocals by Sarah Harmer.
