FINE FEATHERS FOR NIGHT BIRDS

August. Warm
evenings. Outdoor
parties. Barbecues.
And the time when
nightbirds come into
their own! It doesn't
really matter what
you wear. Anything
goes. But Beatle girl
Patti Boyd shows
you how you can be
comfortably
stunning. So come
on . . . IT'S PARTY
TIME!
You want to look really
casual? Well, how's this
outfit? The hipster
pants are by Pentasport
with fly front fastening
and cost about £1 15s.
The prison bar shirt has
contrasting pastel and
white stripes and
there's also a knockout
black and white
combination. By
Feminella it costs £2 2s.
Like to see the boy who
can resist this outfit!
For the slightly more sophisticated this, or to win over the boy who likes you to look smart ALL the time. It's a sugar pink and white Dollyrocker from Sambo. If you're a bit overweight the long expanse of narrow stripes will hide it. Ideal for the girl who doesn't watch her diet closely enough. And who can at a party? On this dress, the pink on the stripes, which also frills the neckline, matches up to the yoke. £3 3s. Patti, the lady with the lamp, is dressed in the palest of pinks and plum. The blouse is in a washable crepe spun fabric. It has a puritan collar and raised squares on the bodice of contrast stitching. By Majestic of New York. It sells at £4 9s 6d. The skirt in a deep plum colour with an unpressed front pleat and angle pockets , is in a washable cotton corduroy and also sells at £4s 6d. by Majestic again.
The one snag with outdoor
parties is that you can't
guarantee the wind won't
blow! But you can get round
it. This dress with a matching
headscarf is by
Marlborough. It's navy blue
cotton with a smal white motif
and a double frill at the
hem. If you've just come
back from holiday with a nice
tan you'll look marvelous
with the cut-away shoulder
line. Price is about £5 5s.
The dress is also available in
a full length version on a
slightly paler background. It
has an even more delicate
flower design.
By the time night begins
to meet the morning and
the fires to flag you
might be thankful you
fitted yourself out in a
long shirt. They keep
the draughts away! The
skirt is finely quilted
and has it's own
matching headscarf. By
Estrava it is available in
three different colour
combinations and costs
£8 8s. The pale blue
yoked blouse is by
Feminella and costs £2
2s.
