Arpeggios

If chords are in black and white, arpeggios are in Technicolor. Arpeggios can give life to what was a dull and flat song, if they are played well and in the appropriate place.

What is an arpeggio? An arpeggio is a chord with the notes played in succession, rather than strummed at one go. Such that a C chord:

E---0-----------------------------------------------
B---1-----------------------------------------------
G---0-----------------------------------------------
D---2-----------------------------------------------
A---3-----------------------------------------------
E---3-----------------------------------------------

played as an arpeggio could be:

E-----------------------0---------------------------
B-------------------1-------1-----------------------
G---------------0---------------0-------------------
D-----------2-----------------------2---------------
A-------3-------------------------------3-----------
E---3---------------------------------------3-------

or alternatively:

E----------------------0----------------------------
B--------------1------------------------------------
G------------------0--------------------------------
D------2--------------------------------------------
A----------3----------------------------------------
E---3-----------------------------------------------
