ThE SLeep EquatioN
- The basics are that we're are a NJ band. There's six of us. Two guitarists( Brian Beck, and John Ferrara), a bassist ( Mike Schipper), a drummer (Aaron Neigher) and two vocalists(Timmy Leopold, and Jerry Jones). We've gone through several line up changes and have finally found the perfect mold. We started out as a heavy more metal type band called PointBlank. After recording a c.d. ourselves and playing out with heavy music, we started to feel a lack of something. We changed a few things around, got some new people and began to change our musical style as a whole. Now instead of heavy guitar riffs and "dimebag darrel" type guitar solos, we had evolved into something more meaningful. We had created a bond, and were able to share something that we all felt, and loved. We began writing new songs every week and soon had about eight songs that we had created with our new found style. We booked shows and played more than we ever had. A few months later we decided to record a demo at a studio ( who's name i won't mention). In twelve hours we were able to record three songs, but realized it sounded like shit. Even so we still handed out hundreds of copies of c.d.'s and sold some when ever we could to buy more things for our band. We decided that for our next c.d. we would go back to our roots and record it ourselves, right now we are recording and have finished one song, which is on the site. The quality of what we recorded ourselves is far better in our perspective than what we recorded at the studio. Just goes to show that recording in a studio will not always give you the greatest quality. It's all about knowing how to do the right things.
