Vitas's performance
As Vitas is a very unusual
performer, different from others, his shows break stereotypes of Russia’s pop
music. Though, in the case of Vitas, all these actions are called just “A
Musical Performance”, having specially abilities of deep and hole impact on
the spectator, his emotions and consciousness. And this has its explanation. The
performer becomes an actor, creating different images, using his physical and
spiritual talents as creative material, having understanding of other people,
characters very different from his own (Karlsson, The blind artist etc.). He
connects on the stage as if he is another hero. “In the respect of his
creative power, Vitas is absolutely independent and everything he makes, is
impossible to place into the frames of vulgar and common. That’s why we had to
come up with a special show, the quality and esthetics of which could correspond
to the individuality and creativity of Vitas. <…> Nowadays a concert of
Vitas is, as a matter of fact, a musical performance in which talented mimes
participate. But not clowns, masks. In Vitas’s concerts real actors of
classical pantomime school take part. In his concerts you can see the death with
his scythe and angels with their wings. On his stage we watch the story of evil
clowns who has come to us from the ancient times and who are really very
dangerous, they are demon creatures with beautiful painted faces. ” (Sergey

At the Vitas’s performances we experience all the familiar feelings and emotions: love, passion, pain, loneliness, grief, happiness, joy. They are the songs of life and death, of mutual penetration of opposite phenomena, of the play of light and darkness, the good and the evil, the angel and the demon.
