Why: Simplified Song Interpretations: Make Me Mommy (lyrics)

John Metzger of The Music Box gets a little carried away with his reference to Make Me Mommy when detailing how Ben's current work is more introspective:

And most importantly, messages that life is a series of choices, and one need not necessarily follow some pre-ordained path (Make Me Mommy) to find happiness.
The Music Box

I can't really argue with anyone finding meaning in a song, but it's a stretch.

While it's a really fun live song, the next quote assumes too much:

"Make Me, Mommy," a silly joke obviously created for the new band.
High bias

Oh, obviously. Okaaay. The band members did hilariously sing the whiny brat voices in this song, but it's never been stated that Ben wrote the song with the band in mind.  In fact, Ben has said he wrote this song for his twins - or his expecting wife - before they were born.  Contrarily, he has said in concert that he wrote it when he was four years old.  Either way, High Bias better rethink the use of the word "obviously."
