Song of the Lioness Quartet (Alanna: The First Advernture, In the Hand of the Goddess, The Woman Who Rides Like A Man, Lioness Rampant)by Tamora Pierce: This one of the most amazing books I have ever read! It tells of a young girl, Alanna of Trebond, who wants to become a knight, but there is one small problem: She is a girl. With her gift (magical ability granted to those by the gods), she heals herself in training to avoid seeing a healer (doctor who uses magic to heal someone). Disguised as Alan of Trebond, she makes many new friends, such as Raoul, George, and the Prince Jonathan. She also meets a shady relative of Prince Jonathan, Duke Roger of Conté. This series follows Alanna through her journeys against Roger and is highly recommended.
