Green to Think
Desmond’s New York City |
All of the NYC pics are on the picture page, not just concert pics… Just a warning… |
Check the BLOG for details on the whole trip
Desmond’s was a decent place. Reminded me a little of the East End. Just a little. We were a bit delayed due to my ineptness with the road, but we only missed a few songs. The club was quite packed, and at a closer look, they were mostly minors. Fun! Where was this bar when I was underage? The guys were crammed into a corner, but still rocked out. Played some new stuff (umm...but NOT Dear Urgency :-/), old stuff, and some fun covers. Sorry, I can’t recall the setlist. But at least we got there in time to hear Sundays. That song always reminds me of the fun times in Dewey. So of course Maryellen and I squealed and resumed our silly dancing. This also marked the night of GTT receiving their first bra thrown on stage. Way to be rockstars, boys. They also busted out the Christmas song. Though the evening was quite enjoyable, the best moment came after. I’ll just cut and paste from the blog, so if you read it twice, you will laugh twice as hard. Karen and Melissa went into the nasty bathroom while I hung out in the club. Melissa runs out and tells me she needs my tissues - Karen had dropped stuff in the toilet. So the girl was in one of the nastiest bathrooms in NYC, and of course there is no toilet paper in the nastiest bathroom in NYC. Instead of shaking it like a polaroid picture, she searches for "a receipt or something" in her purse. Items in her purse slip out and into the toilet, yes, the tainted unflushed toilet. Caught up in the frantic moment, she plunges in to save her keys, cell phone, and a twenty dollar bill. She left the change. They rush out and immediately Karen douses herself in my gel hand sanitizer. Her cell phone didn’t work for a while, and made insanely annoying beeping noises. I think its now ok. And to be brief, we spent the rest of the night walking around NYC, stayed at the Piperno’s, and hit up the Village on Saturday to go barhopping. Incredible weekend. |
