- Joe Nichols' debut single on the Universal South, "The Impossible," has shoved LeAnn Rimes from the #1 spot on Billboard's National Country Singles Sales Chart. Rimes previously held the position for 23 weeks. (Note from the Web-Goddess: Hey Joe-Mammas!! Who's Joe-Daddy?!)
- Mel Tillis has sold his 2,600 seat theater and 13 acres of land in Branson, MO to David Green, owner of the Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby stores. The sale price was not disclosed. Tillis said he will perform another shows in the theater through New Year's Eve.
- As first reported on The Blue Guitar at the beginning of the year, Darryl Worley's wife, Beverly, has opened the "Worleybird Cafe" in their hometown of Savannah, TN. The eatery features mementos from her husband's career and INCREDIBLE food!!
- The next installment of CMT's Crossroads series, slated to feature The Dixie Chicks and the Dave Matthews Band, has been delayed due to a scheduling conflict. No word on when or if this particular episode will be re-scheduled.
- Billboard magazine will add a bluegrass album sales chart beginning with their July 20th issue.
