The WebGoddess has merged 'Center Stage' with the 'Tune It Up' section of the site, meaning 'Center Stage' will now be the place to come for info on up and coming country artists as well as the opinion column.
I haven't always been the biggest fan of CMT, but I've come to accept the fact that it's all I'm goign to get thanks to my cable company, and I'll just have to live with it. I've even come to enjoy "Most Wanted Live," and am a frequent visitor to the set. Where else can I see Charlie Daniels perform for free AND get to stare at a gorgeous blonde guy?!
CMT has undergone sever facelifts in the past year, most notably picking up and extending the televised protion of The Grand Ole Opry. While I am extremely pleased that the Opry can now be seen for an entire hour, my old theory that hampsters with labotomies are running CMT has been confirmed over the past few months. For those of you who haven't tuned in lately, let me elaborate.
The powers that be at CMT have taken a liking to showing reruns of The Grand Ole Opry instead of the live broadcast. Now, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that a large part of the appeal of the Opry is that it's a LIVE show, and not something pre-taped. I can completely understand the reruns that air later Saturday night and on Sunday morning for those who may have missed the original airing, but airing episodes that aired months ago, or possibly even a year ago, makes no sense to me. Surely CMT's "themed weekend programming" aren't so important as to pre-empt the Opry.
