The Gift

Chapter 22

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Lainie and Brian entered the club hand in hand. It was dark and loud, and the dancefloor was packed. Lainie glanced around the room at the bevvy of beautiful girls who draped themselves over the famous guys who sat at the tables like they were kings of the world. She felt very, very out of place here. She looked over in one corner and saw AJ and Howie in a booth with four very pretty girls. AJ held up his hand and motioned for Brian and Lainie to join them. Brian pulled Lainie through the crowd, and she could have sworn someone grabbed her ass...

"Girls, you'll have to excuse us," AJ said, dismissing the girls with a waive of his hand. "We've got Backstreet Boy stuff to discuss."

The girls eyed Lainie cattily as they left the table. One of them even sneered at her. Lainie slid into the booth beside AJ and Brian slid in on her other side.

"Your hair's different," AJ said, pulling his sunglasses down on his nose to survey Lainie's new look.

"Brian told the guy what to do," Lainie said, touching her newly blonder hair self-consciously.

"Looks good," AJ said, nodding. "I like you better without so much makeup, but you look hot."

Just then, the most amazing looking woman Lainie had ever seen walked up to the table and slid in beside Howie.

"Hi boys," she said, her deep burgundy lips smiling. "And who do we have here?" She turned her attention to Lainie. The woman's hair was raven black, her skin the color of pale cream, and her eyes a striking shade of jade.

"Mikayla, this is Lainie," Brian said, smiling. "My wife."

Mikayla's eyebrows shot up and she blinked several times, her mouth hanging open.

"Wife? Uh, Brian, why have I never even heard you mention her name before?" Mikayla asked, disbelief in her voice.

"Well... we just met a little over a week ago," Brian said sheepishly.

"Ahhhhh..." Mikayla said, nodding. "You're nuts. But I'm sure you know that already. Brian's a great catch, honey. You did good."

"Thanks," Lainie said shyly. Mikayla cocked her head to one side and sized Lainie up.  She looked like a sweet girl. Very insecure. Totally shy. That much was obvious. She was really beautiful. Not that fake kind of pretty, either. Not an ounce of silicome or collagen anywhere in her body, Mikayla would venture to guess. She was a natural beauty. Flawless skin. Gorgeous eyes. They'd have beautiful kids...

"Lainie, Mikayla's one of our good friends," Brian explained. "She owns the club. She and Kevin used to... uh... date... for awhile."

"Date? Is that what we're calling it now," Mikayla laughed. "Lainie, Kevin and I used to have sex. Quite often, as a matter of fact. But I've moved on, and so has he."

"Well, I was trying to be nice about it," Brian said, smiling. Lainie was completely uncomfortable with this conversation. She was totally out of her element. But did she really have an element to begin with?

Nick approached the table and slid into the booth beside Mikayla. One look told her he wasn't happy, and she had a feeling it had something to do with Lainie and Brian.

"Hey baby boy," Mikayla purred into Nick's ear. "What's wrong?"

Nick shook his head, but didn't respond. He stared across the table at Brian with a contemptable expression on his face. Mikayla took Nick's hand in hers.

"Why don't you come to my office, Nicky," she whispered. "I think I might be able to turn that frown upside down."

Nick tried not to smile, but was unsuccessful. Mikayla always knew how to make him smile. He nodded and slid out of the booth and Mikayla followed.

"Lainie, it was lovely meeting you. I wish you and Brian the best of luck. May you be blessed with a dozen babies with your beauty and Brian's talents," Mikayla said, kissing Lainie's cheek. "I'm sure we'll see each other again soon."

Nick followed Mikayla to her office, and as soon as the door closed, Mikayla pushed his back roughly against it. Her lips overtook his and she pushed his jacket off his shoulders. Nick's hands remained by his side until he was given permission to touch her... his Mistress...

"Nicky, why don't you like Lainie," Mikayla whispered into Nick's mouth. Nick closed his eyes as Mikayla's mouth travelled down his neck.

"I do like her," Nick muttered. "Too much. Wayyy too much."

"Ohhhh... so that's the problem," Mikayla said, untucking his shirt. She ran her hands over his groin, grasping his hard cock through the material of his pants. Nick let out a groan. Mikayla unbuttoned his pants and let them fall to the floor. He wasn't wearing any underwear. She smiled up at him as she began to stroke his shaft.

"Oh god, Mikayla," he moaned. "Please."

"You can fuck me, baby," she whispered, snaking her arms around his neck. Nick ran his hands down her back and hiked up her skirt. She was wearing the tiniest piece of material that could still be called panties, and he ripped them off in one motion He grasped her ass hard and picked her up, as she wrapped her legs around his hips. He put her down on her desk and thrust into her forcefully.

"Oh yeah, baby," she gasped, feeling the enormity and the heat of Nick's hard cock fill her. His head fell back as she clenched her tight walls around him. Within a few minutes, he climaxed, filling her with his hot cum. He rested his forehead on her shoulder until his throbbing ceased. When he looked up at her, she had a smile on her face.

"Why are you smiling?" Nick asked. "You didn't come."

"Because... I made you forget your troubles for just a few minutes," she said. "That makes me happier than anything."

"I love you, Mikayla," Nick said, his voice barely a whisper. He rested his head back on her shoulder as she stroked his hair.

"Nicky, tell me somthing..."

"What, baby?"

"Do you love Brian?" Mikayla asked quietly.

"You mean like love him, love him?? Well, he's my best friend in the whole world. Of course I love him. Romantic love? Uhh that would be a negative," Nick laughed.

"I like her. Be happy for him," Mikayla said, still stroking his hair. "He loves her. Can't you see that?"

Nick was silent for a moment. He sighed heavily. "Yeah, I can see that. But... he knew... I mean, he should have known."

"Did you TELL him, Nick. Did you tell him you had feelings for her?"

"Well, not in so many words. I told her I liked her, but... "

"Nick, they're perfect for each other. Look at her. Look at yourself. Look what you just did with me... She doesn't seem like the type who would understand you. She's Bri's type. Not yours. I know you think you love her, but baby, I think you're just jealous."

"I am jealous!" Nick exploded, pulling away from her. "Damn straight, I'm jealous! I wanted her!"

Mikayla raised her eyebrow at him.

"I'm sorry," he said softly. "I didnt' mean to yell. I just... I'm pissed. I can't help it."

"Come to my house later," Mikayla said, sitting up and straightening her clothes. "You can stay with me tonight. Maybe I can make you forget again."

Nick looked at her for a moment, then nodded.

"Who are you?" the tall blonde girl asked Lainie. Lainie looked up at the girl, and wished Brian and AJ hadn't gone to the bathroom. She was alone at the table now...

"I'm... uh... Lainie."

"Well... uh Lainie... why are you at this table? This is the Backstreet Boys' table."

"I know. I'm with... Brian," Lainie replied, swallowing hard.

"Sure you are, honey," the girl snorted. "And I'm with AJ."

"No, really," Lainie said, trying to control her nerves. "I'm with Brian."

The girl rolled her eyes. Thankfully, AJ and Brian picked that moment to return.

"Julie, what the hell are you doing?" AJ demanded. "You know you're not supposed to be anywhere near me. I suggest you get the fuck outta here. Immediately."

"But baby," the girl pleaded. "I was just trying to get this girl to leave your table for you."

"Now why the FUCK would I want her to leave the table? She's Brian's fucking WIFE, you idiot. Now get the hell away from me before I have Marcus bounce your ass out onto the street," AJ yelled. The girl looked stricken, but she walked away. AJ turned to Lainie.

"You ok, Laines?" he asked.

"Yeah. I'm ok. I guess I need to take one of those assertiveness training courses or something. I don't guess a self-defense class would be such a bad idea either, " she replied, shaking her head.

"I'm sorry, baby. You wanna leave?" Brian asked, hugging her.

"Nah. We can stay," Lainie said, trying to smile. To be honest, the girl had scared the hell out of her, and she did want to leave, but she would never disappoint Brian like that. She had to acclimate herself to Brian's world, and there was no other way to do it except to take these things in stride.

"Come dance with me," Brian said, smiling.

"I can't dance," Lainie laughed, shaking her head.

"Yes you can!" AJ exclaimed. "I've seen you do it, remember? That Eagle Point place. I was there. I saw you!"

Lainie wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue at him. She took Brian's hand and he led her onto the dance floor. They began to dance to Poe's Hey Pretty, which was a very sensuous song. Lainie let her body take over for her, and they ended up grinding against each other. She could feel herself getting very, very turned on as she ran her hands over her husband's hard chest. She looked into his eyes, and he smiled a naughty little smile. She could feel his hardness pressing against her thigh. She smiled back at him. He pulled her in for a kiss. His tongue danced around in her mouth, and she moaned softly.

"I want you..." he growled into her ear. "Right now."

Lainie laughed. "Right HERE?"

"Not here. C'mon," he said, pulling her off the dancefloor. They walked toward the bathrooms, and Brian cut in front of everyone in line and pulled Lainie into one of the stalls. He locked the door behind her, and pulled her shirt open. He attacked her nipples with his mouth, sucking them roughly, while his hands travelled down her stomach and unbuttoned her pants. She gasped and grasped the back of his head, as he slid her pants down. His hand went between her legs, and he inserted two fingers into her already wet core. Her breathing quickened and her head fell back against the stall door. The music outside was so loud, there was no way anyone could hear them, but it was obvious to anyone who might have seen them enter the bathroom just exactly what Brian had in mind.

"Turn around," Brian rasped into her ear. She did as he asked and faced the wall. He bent her over slightly, and slipped himself inside of her. He placed his hands on her hips and thrust in and out of her. She braced herself against the wall as his thrust became harder and more frenzied. She groaned and her inner voice begged for him to do it harder... She came, moaning his name, and feeling his hot throbbing inside of her. He stood her up and turned her to face him again. He had a strange smile on his face as he kissed her.

"I love you," he whispered.

"I love you too," Lainie replied, wrapping her arms around his neck for support. Her legs were weak from her orgasm. Brian reached down and pulled her pants up for her.

"You ready to go home now?" he laughed.

"Yeah," she said, smiling.

6 weeks later

Lainie gazed at the beautiful form of her sleeping husband, then looked out of the airplane window at the clouds. Their trip to Kentucky had been a success. Brian's parents had loved her. They were shocked at first, but very soon, they warmed up to her . Lainie had all the southern charm and grace that a southern woman should possess, and she was just what they had in mind for their son's choice in a wife. She was so unlike the other girls Brian had brought home, and her Lainie had helped Mrs. Littrell in the kitchen, which was very much appreciated, and Mrs. Littrell had actually cried when they left. Lainie promised they would come back soon, and she meant it. She loved Brian's family. It made her so homesick, though. She missed her own parents so much.

"Brian, wake up baby," she whispered. "We're about to land. You need to sit up."

Brian opened his sleepy blue eyes and smiled. "Ok. It's good to be home."

"Yeah," Lainie said, smiling. But her smile belied her true feelings. She wanted to go HOME. She wanted to be back in Alabama. With people she knew. She didn't know anybody in Florida except Brian and the guys, and Mikayla, who she was really beginning to like.

"What's wrong?" Brian asked. He could tell something was bothering her.

"Nothing," she said, still trying to smile.

"Lainie. Don't lie to me. What's wrong?"

"I miss my family," she said, finally crumbling. "I miss my mama and daddy. I miss Andi. I just miss my home."

Brian hugged her. "I'm sorry," he whispered. "I just never thought about you missing all that. I'm just so used to picking up and moving all the time, I didn't even think about how you would adjust. I'll bet you do miss them, sweetheart. Hey, I'll tell ya what? Why don't you invite Andi to come down for a few days. Would that make you feel better? And if you wanna invite your parents, go ahead!"

Lainie sniffed and wiped away her tears. She would call Andi as soon as she got home. Maybe that would make her feel better. She was just so emotional lately. With everything that had happened to her in the past two months, she wasn't surprised by it at all, though. Yep, it was time for a visit from Andi...
