Spellbound

chapter 6

Love Me

Avery strode confidently through the crowd of anxious fans and took her seat in the front row. As the lights dimmed she pulled her silver ring from her pocket and slid it effortlessly onto her finger. The boys took the stage and she felt the now familiar tingle begin to move up her arm.

Love Me

She watched as Howie performed, never missing a note, each dance step crisp and perfect. He moved across the stage in front of her and she waited for him to look to her. He twirled and danced past, never once looking her way.

Love Me

She felt the tingling getting stronger, moving through her chest. Her eyes never left Howie, but his eyes never met hers. Slowly frustration washed over her as the show wore on. She tried to will him to look at her, but never once did he even glance in her direction. Frustration became anger as the boys took their final bows. Furious, she pulled at the ring on her finger, but it stuck at her knuckle. The tingling became stronger, moving from her chest up to her head and downward to pool between her legs.

See Me

Angry tears of frustration filled her eyes as she tried desperately to remove the ring.

See Me

The words echoed in her head, her vision blurring, her heart beginning to pound.

See Me

Avery looked up to the stage and to Howie who was waving to the fans along the side of the stage.

See Me

Her eyes were drawn to the center of the stage and to a sparkling of light that caught her attention. Standing directly before her, staring right at her with a seductive smile on his face was Nick, wearing the glimmering silver ring.
