Chapter 15
A slow smile crept across Bailey's face as she considered Nick's offer.
"Your room, huh?" she laughed. Nick lowered his gaze, but never lost her eyes. He nodded and smirked slightly.
"Maybe some other time," Bailey said, winking. "I've got a test tomorrow."
Nick laughed a little, then nodded as they headed home. Turnabout was fair play, he guessed. He had turned her down once before, too. When they reached the sorority house, Nick walked around to her side of the car to let her out. He grasped her hand and they walked up the sidewalk to the front porch. Nick's thumb grazed over her palm lightly, sending a little shiver up her spine. He stopped at the front door and turned her to face him. He ran his hand over her cheek and kissed her lips softly. She closed her eyes and allowed his tongue to gently explore her mouth. His fingertips trailed down the side of her neck, and she could feel herself melting into a puddle on the front steps. God, she wanted him. Badly. This kiss was so different from the one they shared out in the wilderness. It wasn't anxious or greedy. Best of all, it was warm. It was perfect. Nick broke the kiss and looked into her eyes, smiling.
"Well, I guess I'll go," he said. "Or do you need me to talk to the house mother?"
"Nah. I can handle her," Bailey laughed. "Nick, I had a really great time tonight."
"Me too," he said, looking down at his shoes. He really had wanted her to come back to the hotel with him, but he hadn't expected her to say yes anyway. "Well, I'll call you. Or you can call me. Whatever."
He started down the sidewalk to the car. As Bailey watched him walk away, she felt her heart reaching out to him. She didn't want him to leave. She suddenly got a completely off-the-wall idea.
"Nick!" she called. Nick stopped and turned around.
"Yeah?"
Bailey ran back down the sidewalk and grabbed him around the waist. She looked up into his blue eyes and smiled brightly. Nick looked down at her, confused.
"Listen," she said, "I have this thing to go to next weekend. It's our sorority's Winter Formal. Now, I know you're a busy guy, and you probably already have plans for next weekend, but if you don't, I'd love for you to go with me."
Nick looked up at the night sky and chuckled. Bailey's smile faded.
"Sorry," she said, "I guess that was a little silly, huh? I mean, you're a Backstreet Boy. You've certainly got better things to do with your time than to go to a stupid sorority Formal. I shouldn't have put you on the spot like that."
"Bailey," he said, looking back down into her sweet face, "I'd love to go with you. It's just been a long time since a girl actually asked me on a date. That's why I was laughing."
"Oh," Bailey said, blushing. "Well... great! Um... I guess I'll see you next Friday, then. The party's at the Hilton in Gatlinburg. We're all renting cabins in the moutains. I'll go ahead and reserve one for us."
"Cabins?" Nick asked, raising an eyebrow. "So this is an all night thing?"
"It's an all-weekend thing," Bailey replied. "Is that a problem?"
Nick shook his head. "No. Not at all. Will we have to share a cabin with anybody?" he asked, wrinkling his nose.
"Not if you don't want to," she laughed. "Who knows, maybe it'll snow while we're there."
"UGH! Snow!" Nick groaned. "I don't know if I ever want to see snow again as long as I live."
"But the right KIND of snow would be neat. You know... the kind you can get OUT of," Bailey giggled.
"True," he said, wrapping his arms around her tightly. He kissed her once more, and the excitement in him grew. He stroked her cheek softly, and his tongue probed the inside of her mouth once more. She tasted like wine, and he could smell the tea rose perfume. She smelled like heaven. Bailey could feel the beginnings of a very substantial erection pressing against her hip.
"I guess it's time for me to go in," she said softly, pulling back. Nick nestled his face in her hair, inhaling her scent further. She ran her nails up the back of his neck and into his soft, blonde hair.
"Yeah, uh... I guess so," he said, hating to let her go.
"I'll see you next Friday. Say... 3:30?" Bailey said.
"I'll be here," Nick replied. "See ya."
She watched him leave, as she leaned against the door to the house. She opened the door quietly and tip-toed up the stairs to her room. There was a note on her door from the house mother, of course, letting her know she had two demerits. Bailey rolled her eyes and went inside. She threw the note in the trashcan and fell onto her bed. As she stared up at the glow-in-the-dark stars on her ceiling. She hugged her pillow tightly and giggled.
Oh my God, I'm going to Winter Formal with Nick Carter, she thought. Everybody is gonna freak.

"Ok, Kevin, work your magic, man," Nick laughed. Kevin sat down across from Nick and surveyed him.
"Normally I would say Armani, but we're talking about you here, dawg," Kevin laughed.
"Thanks a lot," Nick said, rolling his eyes. "I can wear Armani just as well as you can."
Kevin raised an eyebrow. "Oh really?"
"Well," Nick said, looking down,"maybe not JUST as well as you. But I have worn it before."
"Nick, let's get down to business," Kevin sighed. "Hugo Boss. Black. Black shirt. Black tie."
Nick smiled. He always knew who to come to when it was time to dress up. Kevin was the master.
"Also," Kevin said, "wear your glasses a lot. It makes you look smarter."
"Oh ha ha ha," Nick said sarcastically. "We're past that, thank you."
"I'm serious," Kevin said, nodding. "You should wear the glasses. They look good on you."
"I'll think about it," Nick muttered.

"Ohmigod, Bailey! I can't believe you're taking Nick Carter to the formal!" Leslie squealed. "Are you actually going to get him the champagne glass and everything?"
It was a tradition in the sorority for the girls to have Waterford crystal champagne glasses engraved with the girl and her date's name and present them to the guys before the party.
"I don't know. What do you think?" Bailey said, not really sure if Nick would appreciate such an immature gesture.
"Oh I think you definitely should!" Leslie exclaimed. "Make him feel normal! I mean, he's so used to the star treatment and everything. Make him feel like a regular guy." Leslie was an airhead, but sometimes she made good points. "So are you guys going to share a cabin with me and Brett?"
"Well..." Bailey said, hesitating, "Nick kind of wanted to get one of our own. I think he's pretty big on privacy."
"Yeah, right," Leslie smirked. "Privacy my ass. He's wanting in your pants."
"Leslie!" Bailey gasped. "You're awful! Nick isn't like that!"
"Not what I heard," Leslie sighed, licking her lips suggestively. "So how does he kiss?"
"Leslie, I will not have this conversation with you."
"Oh come on, Bailey. I'm your best friend. You HAVE to tell me! I know you've kissed him! Now spill it!" Leslie begged.
Bailey giggled a little and squeezed her eyes shut. "Ok, ok. He's an amazing kisser. His lips are so soft. And he does this thing with his hand..."
"He does WHAT?" Leslie exclaimed.
"You perv! I mean he does this thing where he runs his hand over your cheek real soft. You can barely feel his fingers touching you, but you know they're there. And he sucks your bottom lip a little when he's pulling away," Bailey said, her eyes still closed.
"Oh God, Bail. You're turning me on just talking about it," Leslie sighed. "I wish I could have my own personal Backstreet Boy."
"Yeah, well... me too," Bailey agreed.

The next week passed by slower than Bailey could ever imagine. Finally, Friday arrived. Bailey sat in the living room of the sorority house, her knee jumping nervously as she kept one eye on the clock and one eye on the television. They were predicting a nice snowfall for Gatlinburg on the Weather Channel. True to his word, at 3:30 there was a knock on the door. It was all Bailey could do to keep her seat and let the housekeeper answer it. It wouldn't be fitting if she looked too eager.
"I'm here to pick up Bailey," she heard Nick's voice say.
"She's in the living room. I'll show you there," the housekeeper responded.
Nick entered the living room looking hotter than normal. He was dressed in a pair of Abercrombie & Fitch jeans that almost fit and a snug fitting cream turtleneck shirt, along with a black leather Hugo Boss jacket. Bailey lost her breath momentarily when she saw him standing there.
"Hey baby," he said, pulling her up from the couch into a tight embrace. "You ready to go?"
"Y...yeah," she stammered.
"Something wrong?" he asked.
"No. Nothing's wrong. Um... do you want to drive, or do you want me to?" she asked.
"I'll drive," he laughed. "Do you need help with your bags?"
"Um... yeah. That would be nice," she said. He held her hand as they walked up to her room. Once inside, she handed him a box wrapped in white paper with a gold bow.
"What's this?" he asked, smiling.
"Just a little momento," she said nervously. "I hope you like it. It's a tradition."
Nick opened the box and removed the champagne flute. His smile broadened as he read the engraving... Bailey & Nick Kappa Kappa Gamma Winter Formal 2001.
"I love it," he said, kissing her cheek. "I'll keep it forever."
"Sure you will," she said, blushing.
They loaded Bailey's things into the car and headed towards Gatlinburg. On the way, they chatted about this and that. When Backstreet's Drowning came on the radio, Bailey looked at Nick and smiled.
"What?" he said, laughing a little. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I was just wondering if you were going to change the station or if you were going to sing along," she snickered.
Nick threw his head back and sang his heart out, and Bailey cracked up.
"You are too cute," she laughed.
"So are you," he said. "Why don't you sing with me? I know you know the song."
"Yeah, I know it, but you sure don't wanna hear me sing it," she laughed.
"Ok, ok, I won't make you sing. Yet."
They stopped by the cabin rental office and got the keys to the chalet Bailey had reserved. As they drove through the country and up into the mountains, Bailey started to get a weird feeling in her stomach. Nick did too.
"Are you nervous?" she asked quietly.
"Sort of. But I can't figure out if it's because we're heading into the mountains, which I swore I'd never do again, or if it's the idea of...." he trailed off.
"The idea of what?" she asked softly.
"The idea of spending the whole weekend.... alone... with you," he replied, looking into her eyes.
"Oh... uh... I didn't..."
Nick smiled and turned his focus back to the road. They drove up the narrow, curvy path that led to the cabins. When they reached the summit, Bailey drew in a deep breath. The view was incredible. Trees as far as she could see, with little cabins tucked into the nooks and crannies of the mountain. The sun was just setting behind the treeline when they found their cabin, which was named The Nutcracker Suite. Nick found this quite amusing, and had a good laugh as they unloaded their bags. Bailey opened the door, and they entered.
The log cabin was nearly brand new, but had the feel of old world warmth. The fireplace was already lit when they walked in, giving the room an earthy orange glow. Bailey turned on the lights and gasped. The little one room cabin was gorgeous. It was small and cozy, with a Christmas tree in one corner, and tiny white lights all over the place. Garlands, also lighted, lined the huge picture windown on the back of the cabin. There were white silk poinsettias everywhere. Bailey walked to the area where the bed was. It was a huge bed with a polished log frame, a down comforter, with a cream silk duvet covering it. There were tons and tons of pillows on it, too. Bailey could barely contain herself. The place was perfect. She ventured into the bathroom, and found that the bathtub was actually a jacuzzi tub that looked big enough to fit four people in it. There was a separate shower in another little side room. There were candles all around the tub on tiny shelves, just waiting to be lit. Bailey was so excited she was practically jumping up and down. When she went back into the main room, Nick was just bringing in her bags.
"This place in great," he said, smiling. "You did a good job picking it out."
"Thanks," she giggled. "I had no idea it was going to be like this."
"See, now this is what I had in mind when I said..." Nick started, but he stopped.
"What? Finish what you were going to say," Bailey said, cocking her head to one side.
"Nah. I shouldn't," he said, walking to the picture window.
"Yes you should. I hate it when you do that. Finish your sentence."
Nick sighed. "Ok. This is what I had in mind when I said that you should be made love to in a chalet in the mountains and not out in the wilderness."
"Oh," Bailey said quietly. She stared at Nick's back as he looked out over the quickly darkening valley below them. She slowly walked behind him and ran her hands over his broad shoulders, then pulled his jacket off. He didn't turn around. She wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her cheek on his back. He grasped her hands and pulled her arms around him tighter. He noticed how soft her hands were, and he just wanted to kiss them. The magic was broken by the ringing of the phone.
Bailey sighed deeply and went to the phone.
"Hello?"
"Bailey!" Leslie squealed. "Is he there?"
"Of course," Bailey laughed.
"Ohmigod I can't believe it. He's actually there. I can't wait til you guys come to the party tonight. Get there early. I want everybody to meet him. Ohh you know Meaghan and Carly are going to be soooo jealous."
"I'm not out to make anybody jealous," Bailey said softly. "I just want him to have a good time."
"Well fine. Ruin all my fun," Leslie joked. "Anyway, Brett wants to meet him too. So you guys hurry up."
"Ok, Les. I'll see you in a little while." Bailey hung up and turned to Nick.
"What was that all about," he asked.
"Nothing. We'd better get ready. Tonight's the casual party. The big party isn't til tomorrow night. You can wear what you have on if you want," Bailey said, hoping he wouldn't change. He looked very, very hot in that outfit.
"Ok," he laughed. "I guess this'll do."
"I'm going to change now," she said, unzipping her suitcase, and pulling out a cornflower blue ribbed turtleneck and a pair of fitted black pants. She turned her back to Nick and pulled her shirt over her head. His eyes grew huge as he stared at the naked flesh of her back.
"I hope you don't mind," she said. "It's kind of crowded in that bathroom."
"Uh... no. Not at all," Nick replied, looking everywhere but at her. But he couldn't avert his eyes for long. Bailey pulled the shirt on, then dropped her jeans on the floor. Nick sucked in a deep breath as his eyes feasted on her long, slender legs and the gentle curve of her ass. She pulled on the black pants and zipped them up. Nick could feel his hardness straining painfully against the denim of his jeans. Bailey then went into the bathroom to touch up her hair and makeup. Nick shifted himself in his pants, trying to get comfortable. But it was no use. He was in trouble.
When Bailey came out, her hair was pulled up into a twist on top of her head, soft blonde strands falling around her neck. Nick had taken out his contacts and put on his glasses. Bailey smiled.
"You look nice in glasses," she said, putting her arms around his neck.
"You just look nice," he said softly, kissing her lips. She ran her fingers through the back of his hair and allowed her body to melt against his. His hands roamed over her back. He just had to touch her skin. He began to pull the hem of her shirt out of her pants, and he ran one hand up under the back of her shirt. Her skin was silky hot, and he felt himself grow hard again almost immediately. Bailey felt it too, and she pulled away.
"Aren't we in a mood tonight?" she chided. "Come on, loverboy. Let's get to that party."
Nick groaned and squeezed his eyes shut. "Bailey," he whined.
"Come on, Nicky," she said, grabbing his hand. "Let me drive your car."
"My car?" he croaked. "You... want to drive my Jag?"
"Please," she begged, holding out her hand.
Nick sighed. "Ok, but just don't wreck it, ok?"
"I promise, I won't."
As they drove back down the mountain, Nick's hand rested on Bailey's knee. She could feel the warmth of it through her pants, and she couldn't wait to get to this party... so she could make an appearance, then get back up to that cabin with Nick.
