Hair the color of almonds
falls over my shoulders.
I see you watching me,
Storing me away.
A smile paints my face.

We step outside, where
Silver warmth cloaks us,
Hides us from life.
The moon rests on the shoulder
Of an overbearing oak.

You are:
Strength softened by subtlety,
Brown eyes obscured by sleepy lashes,
Fooling me into loving you.

The gravel grumbles beneath our feet,
Perhaps telling us the secrets of life.
You lean into me,
Your mouth covers mine.
Once more, our shadows join.
