For fifty years classical music radio programmer, R A Campbell has been compiling a list of People's Choice classical music favorite compositions and performances on records and compact discs. Listeners would call in for record information on a selection they heard on his program on their classical music station. Campbell started the list when working at WQXR affiliate WASH-FM in Washington D.C. In later years he was classical music director, music librarian and announcer. He worked at classical stations WFLN in Philadelphia, WBAL-FM in Baltimore, Hawaii Public Radio's KHPR/KKUA and The University of Arizona's award winning, KUAT-FM. The selections are included on classical albums linked to this site and would make a fine basic start for anyone building a collection of fine music on compact discs.
