Amie Comeaux
A Very Special Angel
Amie Noelle Comeaux was born on December 4, 1976 in Brusly, Louisiana to Carmen and Darrell Comeaux. She grew up singing in nursing homes and at weddings and parties. She became one of the first artists signed to Polydor Records. At age 17, she released her first album "Moving Out". Although it didn't get much radio play, it earned her a large following of dedicated fans. Amie returned home to Louisiana, but in a few years returned to Nashville to give her career another try. She recorded 19 new songs and was excited at the idea of releasing another album. Sadly, on December 21, 1997 at 1:25 P.M., just a few days after her 21st. birthday, Amie was killed in a car crash in Brusly. She had been out caroling with her grandmother and her godchild Megan and was returning home when she lost control of her car on the slick road and struck a tree. Amie left behind a void in the hearts of her fans that will never be filled. Her mother helped to get her second CD released a few months after her death, very appropriately titled "A Very Special Angel". And that she is indeed.
