Selena Quintanilla-Perez was born in 1971 to Abraham and Marcella Quintanilla in Corpus Christi, Texas. She grew up with a musical family. Her father formed a family band when Selena was just a young child called Selena Y Los Dinos. Her brother A.B. played bass guitar and her sister Suzette played the drums. They made it big in the Tejano music scene. Her father hired a guitar player named Chris Perez. Selena and Chris fell in love and later married. Sadly, Selena's life was cut short on March 31, 1995, when she faced the ultimate betrayal. She was murdered by her fan club president Yolanda Saldivar. She was only 23 years old. Selena remains the biggest and brightest star in Tejano music ever.
