In February 1998 The Stereophonics were voted the "Best British Band" at the Brit Awards. Then came the re-release of their first single "Local Boy In The Photograph", which was the highest chart entry, and also earned them a spot on the plays list of national radios.

Then in 1999 came the release of their second album "Performance and Cocktails", which went in straight at number 1. This album was regarded as one of the albums of the year. It was the 5th best selling album of 1999, it has gone 4 times platinum, and has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. Now thats what I call an album.

The Phonics lads duet with their fellow welsh man Tom Jones with "Mama told me not to come" got them a top 5 hit in the charts.

After a mad 2 years of touring, recording, and performing, the lads stopped for a little quiet time. During that time:

  • Stuart got married, bought a new house, and his wife had a baby early this year.
  • Richard moved to London
  • Kelly started writing the new album

In the summer of 2000 the lads went to Real world studios in Bath, to record their 3rd album. "Just Enough Education to Perform" (J.E.E.P) was released 9th April 2001. So far they have released 4 singles off the album, and they are:
