Bret was born in Dawson Creek, BC., in April 1981. He has basically been a performer since he could make noise.
While his parents (Ken & Yvonne) would be performing afternoon rodeo shows, you could usually find him inviting himself on stage to perform his two little songs, at the age of three. He sang "He's Got The Whole World" and "Daddy's Boy", which was really entitled Daddy's Girl, but he changed the words.
Bret tackled his first recording project when he was ten. After making a deal with his Dad that if he learned 10 songs from start to finish, his parents would buy some studio time and get 1,500 copies made for him.
While Ken felt assured that this would be an expense that he would never have to worry about, Bret came with his first song...his second...then his third...until...you guessed it, off to the studio they go.
Bret traveled around performing with his mom and dad weekends locally, until he graduated from high school in 1999. He then moved to Edmonton, where he is now living.
Every once in a while, you catch him on stage where he might be sneaking around looking for Ken & Yvonne.
