APRIL 26th - GAME #24 vs Miami Marlins (10-13)
Mejia (3-0) vs Slowey (0-0). Mets starting pitching has not allowed a home run in their last eleven starts. With only a few games left in April the Mets at 13 wins and 10 losses have the same record as the Giants and the Yankees. Not many thought that would happen.

Eric Young gets on base for his 20th straight game. David Wright knocks him in, that's the 10th time Wright has scored Young this year. Daniel Murphy gets a hit in his 8th straight game. And the 40 year old veteran Bobby Abreu smacks his first home run as a Met. Started nice but the Mets only got one hit after the third inning. Five runs off Jenrry Mejia in the rainy sixth inning let the Marlins back in the game. Murphy would have really felt stupid after getting thrown out in the tenth arguing a called third strike, the Mets had no more infielders on the bench and would have had to play an outfielder at second if the Mets had tied the game and gone another inning.
A nice lazy Saturday at home. Paid the bills, cleaned my desk, ordered some pizza delivery, got in a little Xbox Call of Duty before game time. I actually was online playing with a friend and ran past game time by almost 2 hours. So I just skipped commercials and got the whole game in by 8:30. (I'll admit I did fall asleep in my chair during the 3rd inning when Duda drove in two runs). The MLB.tv has worked great this week [opps, I just jinxed it!] It has not "jumped" to live in awhile, so I'm becoming a little more trusting on watching games once they've started. I was enjoying the Mets success this week but it does not take long to come back to earth. They had many chances to win today, April home games end tomorrow.
I almost forgot! My 15 year old 40" tube TV died this morning. I usually watch the Mets on my 32" flat screen TV that my Xbox and computer are connected to at my desk. I have been thinking about replacing it for some time as it is so old that "modern" connections don't work on it [ie: BlueRay Player]. So I want to buy a smart TV that has MLB.tv included in it's features, that way I can use my computer while I watch the game. The old TV is super heavy [40" tube] and it will take four guys to cart it out of the TV cubby and out of the house. But a new one will be a welcome toy for retirement.
[I've only been watching daily since 2005]
