APRIL 19th - GAME #17 vs Atlanta Braves (11-5)
Roughed up in his last start against the Angels, Bartolo Colon (1-2) faces off against the Braves Ervin Santana (1-0) in game two of the series at Citi. Down to only two first basemen, let's hope the Mets can get some offense going after only one hit last night. Granderson, Tejada and d'Arnaud need to step up when it counts.

I knew it was just a matter of time before Valverde cost the Mets some wins. A clean top of the 9th and the Mets would have had a comeback bottom of the ninth win. I think the infield dribbler that Colon threw past first for two Braves runs was actually off Freeman's foot/shoe and should have been a dead ball. The umpires saw it differently. Nearly everyone hit in this game as the Mets banged out 13 hits total. Eric Young did not have a hit but walked twice and scored twice. Curtis Granderson continued his slow start with an 0 for 5 and stranding 6 runners. The Mets as a group left 27 runners on base. They did manage to knock Atlanta fireman Craig Kimbrel out in the ninth before coming up short in a last minute rally.
I watched most of this game on my xbox while BBQing for relatives that were over for Easter weekend. I was so tempted to switch to the Pirates game to see how Ike was doing (2-3) but I didn't. This was the second game against the Braves where the Mets ninth inning rally fell short. During dinner my unattended xbox game feed froze and I watched the ninth on my phone at the dinner table with a disapproving glare from my wife. Would it be rude to watch Zack Wheeler throw tomorrow on my phone during Easter service?
