Game one of Skid's season at Citi. May 15th - GAME #41 vs New York Yankees (20-19)
The Subway Series ends with two pitchers making their MLB debuts with Jacob deGrom going against Chase Whitley. The Mets released closer Kyle Farnsworth, saving themselves money as Farnsworth would have been guaranteed money if he was still on the team this weekend. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud caught a backswing to the head during the ninth inning yesterday and is going on the seven-day concussion disabled list. The Mets called up catcher Juan Centeno from Las Vegas while Travis is out. The Mets also recalled Josh Edgin from Triple-A on Thursday,

Really Mets???

Jacob deGrom had a sensational debut. Looked great on the mound. Got the first hit of the year for Mets pitchers. Struck out Derek Jeter for his first MLB K. Jacob deGrom was sensational.

The Mets hitters suck.

I thought a bigger TV screen might help the Mets batters but it only helped the new hitter Jacob deGrom. Did I tell ya he was sensational? He got a hit, k'd Jeter. Great to watch MLB.tv on a freakin' large TV, Mets blue never looked so ... blue. Mets hitters never looked so ... lost. The Yankees scored 14 runs in the two games at Yankee Stadium and only 5 at Citi Field, while the Metropolitans scored 21 runs at Yankee Stadium and ZERO at Citi Field. How the hell this team can look so good one day and have trouble sucking air through a straw the next. Pitching is fantastic but the Mets hitters are just plain pathetic. Unfortunately David Wright has looked like crap lately, striking out way too much.
